The price for a lunch is $2.20 for Kindergarten through Fifth grade. The cost for Sixth grade is $2.30. The cost of additional milk is $0.50
The price for a school breakfast is $1.50. A student who is interested in eating breakfast at school should go directly to the cafeteria (no sooner than 7:40 A.M.) to purchase and eat their breakfast. When finished they should go directly to their classroom and follow their classroom’s arrival procedure.
If you are interested in eating lunch with your child you are asked to first contact and make arrangements with your child's teacher the day before you wish to eat with your child. You must have a criminal background check on file at the school for the current school year.
Your child will need lunch money or a sack lunch everyday. ALL STUDENTS MUST EITHER PURCHASE OR BRING A LUNCH FROM HOME. Carbonated beverages are not allowed as part of an elementary student’s lunch. Lunches may be paid for in advance or on a daily basis. If your child wants to get just a milk to go with their lunch from home, it must be paid for at that time, as the computer system will not allow it as a charge.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PAYING FOR YOUR CHILD’S LUNCH IN ADVANCE PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THIS LUNCH CHECK IS SEPARATE FROM ANY OTHER SCHOOL RENTAL OR SUPPLY NEEDS. THIS MONEY MUST BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL IN A SEALED ENVELOPE WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME, TEACHER’S NAME, AND THE AMOUNT ENCLOSED WRITTEN CLEARLY ON THE OUTSIDE.
A free breakfast/lunch program as well as a reduced breakfast/lunch program is available to eligible Westville Elementary School students. The criterion for acceptance into either of these programs is determined by the State of Indiana. Application forms, including federal income guidelines, may be obtained in the school's office.
The cafeteria DOES NOT have a “Charge Program” for the regular or Free/reduced lunch program.
When a student in grades K-5 reaches $4.50 of debt, a supplemental lunch or breakfast will be given to the student. The supplemental breakfast will consist of toast and milk and a $.50 charge will go against the student’s account. The supplemental lunch will consist of a cheese sandwich and milk and a $.75 charge will go against the student’s account. Sixth grade students are served and charged as a middle school/high school student and therefore are required to have payment for their meal as they are not allowed to charge.
The parent will be notified by letter (which the child will carry home) that a supplemental meal will be served the next day if the debt is not is not PAID IN FULL. The student will continue to receive a supplemental meal until the debt is PAID IN FULL. All money sent with the child will be posted against the debt and a regular lunch will not be available until the entire debt is PAID IN FULL (including the charges for the supplemental meals).
